Curriculum Vitae

Pia Andersen was born in Frederikshavn, Denmark.
Today she shares her life between Extremadura, Spain and Copenhagen, Denmark.
She has studied at The Art Academy of Cracow, Poland and the School of Arts and Crafts, Kolding, Denmark.
Her work is represented in numerous collections and institutions, among others The National Gallery of Denmark; The New Carlsberg Foundation, DK; Oaxaca Museum, Mexico; Museum Vendsyssel, Hjørring, DK and Leopold Hoesch Museum, Düren, Germany.
Her work is based on the impressions from endless journeys in Europe and South America. On the travels she uses the camera as her sketchbook, material to work on in the studio later on.
